We stayed at Seatoller which is ideally situated for exploring the fells in the surrounding locality

Seatoller

Introduction

The accommodation is situated directly on the approach to Honister Pass and was considerably noisier than anticipated for a number of reasons.  We had forgotten that the quarry had been recently re-opened and that heavy vehicles would be using the road in the early hours of the morning.  Furthermore, Seatoller Farm is a working farm and the farmer had kindly kennelled at least 2 of his 6 working dogs just a few feet away from our accommodation, and, in particular, the main bedroom; the dogs were a near constant source of annoyance intermittently barking from early morning until late into the night.

Furthermore, there is no outside area to sit or to allow young children to play in safety.

This is not the place to stay for peace and quiet but is well equipped and would be a joy to stay in if sited in better surrounding; we will not be returning.
