Travelled Saturday 25 February 2006 A 'stopover day' returning home from Scotland

We stayed at Borwick Lodge which is
set in the heart of the English Lake District in a delightful
and tranquil setting

Borwick Lodge is a rather special 17th
century country residence of charm and character pleasantly secluded within
3 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, surrounded by fields and fells in
an area of outstanding natural beauty in all seasons. There is ample parking
within the grounds where the car can be forsaken for one of a number of
short walks, including the famous Tarn Hows, where magnificent views are
there for the taking in return for a little gentle exercise; the more
adventurous might like to explore the higher fells in the Coniston area
which are within easy access.

Borwick Lodge has been four times winner of the F.H.G. Publications
Diploma Award in recognition of 'Accommodation and Service of the
Highest Standards of Comfort, Amenity and Hospitality'. Following
regular inspection by the Tourist Board we have been awarded a Four
Diamonds and Silver Award in 2003 and 2004.
